Baggage Claim… (Say Whaaat!)

Montana's friend's encourage her to look for the "one who can put a ring on her finger in 30 days".

Written  and directed by David E. Talbert. All star cast- Lead Paula Patton, Jill Scott, Tye Diggs, Boris Kodjoe, Djimon Hounsou, Adam Brody, Derek Luke, Trey Songz, and Christina Milan.  Paula Patton’s character (Montana Moore) tries to find a husband in a month, before her younger sister ties-the-knot. She quickly realizes that finding her soul mate is more difficult than she thinks.  Montana Moore discovers who she is and what she really wants out of life. This film was a light romantic comedy that had a predictable ending.

Don’t believe that I feel good about reporting this film as a dud. It was funny at times, but needed stronger character development. Again, this is the challenge that is presented with a cast of varied actors and actresses. (Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, etc, etc…) Character development and plot development…..I say! I was torn about this movie. I was disappointed, but I still wanted to support African-American films. Overall, the movie had a good message. To find out what it is, go see the movie!

  1. Love this blog! It will help me (someone who doesn’t go to movies often) get a little insight on what movies are out and which ones may be worth seeing. Keep up the good work!
