Sequel to The Best Man, written and directed by Malcom D. Lee. Starring Tye Diggs, Terrence Howard , Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Nia Long , Melissa De Sousa, and Regina Hall. I always want to support my black films…..and Just for the record, this movie gave Thor a run for its money opening weekend!
Many years have passed since we have seen the first installment (The Best Man). Friends have gotten married, had children, created new businesses and moved up in the world. There is someone who has brought all of them together for a particular reason. The last get-together didn’t go so smoothly as secrets and indiscretions emerged scaring some relationships. By the end the story shows if each character has resolved their own conflict and how they choose to live with the decisions. Will they come together on the Christmas Holiday or will they let their inner outer conflicts and tear them apart?
Each character was thoroughly developed and cleverly intertwined into the plot. There were moments of intensity and laughter inserted in the right places. I thought that this was an excellent movie. It did not get the credit that it deserved! I would recommend that every adult check this movie out. Every character was relatable in this film. One of my favorite scenes……New Edition reprisal (very sexy). There is nothing that I would change about this film….it was the right length and left room for the audience saying….Hmmm. Open ended! I love it. I’m looking forward to the next one. Until next time….
